POEA also warns applicants and OCWs (overseas contract workers) against the use of fake medical certification.

According to its Official Advisory No. 56 Series of 2018, applicants and recruitment agencies to be found using and submitting fake medical certificates can be under criminal accountability.

There have been numerous reports about suspected individuals offering medical certificates without the need for the applicant to undergo medical examination in exchange for money. The agency discourages the public to engage in these highly illegal activities.

The POEA highly encourages OCWs to stop entertaining these offers and only go to official medical clinics authorized by the Department of Health (DOH) and the different embassies.

To report illegal activities, one can report directly to the POEA through the Anti-IllegalRecruitment Branch through e-mail poea.airb@gmail.com or telephone numbers 7221189 and 7221192.
